One-Line Bio

I'm a modern day woman that finds the term "Housewife" too delicious for words.

Biography

Housewife: house.wife - noun. Date: 13th century

1 : a married woman in charge of a household

2 : a pocket-size container for small articles (as thread)

Hey there! Welcome to Housewife Chronicles. I'm sure you already figured out that I am a housewife. In my search for humor dealing with housewifes on the internet, I have encountered way too many nicey-nice web sites/blogs that deal with nice housewives, raising their nice kids in their nice homes with ugly assed web sites. You will not find that here.

Period.

I don't feel that I am your typical Donna Reed. (More like Lucy... All that bumbling and scheemes gone awry.) I get a kick out of the fact that I am a housewife in this day and age. (HA!)

I have a scathing sense of humor and I tend to swear like a sailor. Dry and sometimes dark humor really floats my boat. My house is usually a mess, I don't defer everything to my husband, and I certainly don't quote the bible every second sentence. I have a mind and I use it all the time. I love to read and both my husband and I are internet junkies. I'm not afraid to speak my mind, even though there are times when I should probably just shut my mouth and not say a damn thing.

I guess I should give you some sort of background info, after all, this is my about page. My name is Kari and I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin with my husband Steve, our almost five year old son Jamie. I joined the ranks of the thrity-somethings two years ago, and I cut my hair and got new, hip glasses in response. I love avacados and asparagus and I hate peas of all kinds and cooked carrots. The last job I held was in sales for a computer consulting company, but was downsized when I was 5 months pregnant with Jamei and I haven't looked back since!

Join me in my adventure in housewivery!
